The Kelkin Can-Can
Kelkin Healthy Foods are well known in Ireland, despite having little to show in the way of previous advertising. Boasting an impressive roster of over 100 products, the challenge was to create a breakthrough campaign that could really grab peoples' attention in an exciting and informative way. So I wrote a song, to the tune of Offenbach's Infernal Gallop, otherwise known as 'The Can-Can', and thus the 'Kelkin Can-Can' was born. Although this was never professionally made, the early versions created real energy within the office and the 'content harvest' was set to be plentiful. What a shame.
Activation Idea - Mini Hot Air Balloons
To take full advantage of the advertising opportunity, I thought Kelkin could tether fifty to one hundred miniature hot air balloons around central parks in Dublin. Commuters would be encouraged to pull the balloons downwards and upon doing so, they would receive a sample snack pack or on-the-go type treat. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, the activation would give budding 'instagrammers' a great social media opportunity.
